About the Journal
Sejarah dan Budaya: Jurnal Sejarah, Budaya dan Pengajarannya (Print ISSN: 1979-9993; Online/E-ISSN: 2503-1147) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published biannually (June and December) by History Department, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Malang, in collaboration with Masyarakat Sejarawan Indonesia (MSI), Perkumpulan Program Studi Sejarah Se-Indonesia (PPSI) and Perkumpulan Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah Se-Indonesia (P3SI). Since volume 17 issue 1 2023 until volume 21 issue 2 2027, this journal has been accredited as Peringkat 3 (Sinta 3) under the decree of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, certificate number 0547/E5/DT.05.00/2024, May 15, 2024.
JSB serve as an academic forum for the publication of original research article, conceptual paper, and book review addressing issues of history, culture, and history education within Indonesia, regional, and global context. JSB is committed to advancing scholarly debates that critically engage with historical narratives, cultural dynamics, and history education practice.
JSB adopts an open access policy, ensuring that all published articles are freely available to readers worldwide. Each manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review process to maintain academic rigor, originality, and ethical integrity. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary approaches that connect history with cultural studies, anthropology, sociology, education, and other fields within the humanities and social sciences.
The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:
- Historiography, theory, and methodology of history;
- Social and cultural history;
- Public history and memory studies;
- Cultural analysis, heritage, and material culture;
- History education research and innovative pedagogies;
- Interdisciplinary perspectives linking history with anthropology, sociology, and education.
