Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between family environment and social media use with students' tolerance attitudes. This study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational type. Family environment and social media use have a significant relationship with students' tolerance attitudes. Family environment with indicators of how parents educate, home atmosphere, and cultural background as a whole produces α <0.05, namely 0.001, 0.03, and 0. Social media use with indicators of number of accounts, duration of use, benefits, and interactions on social media produces α> 0.05 and α <0.05, namely 0.961, 0.225, 0.001, and 0. This shows that tolerance attitudes in students have a significant relationship with how parents educate, home atmosphere, and cultural background, benefits of social media, and interactions on social media. Tolerance attitudes in students do not have a significant relationship with the number of social media accounts and duration of social media use.
