The Role of TikTok Algorithms in Political Polarization and Disinformation in Indonesia

TikTok is a video-based social media platform that offers a variety of entertainment content, from dance and comedy to education and news. TikTok has been used by political actors to conduct political campaigns or promotions on the platform. However, like other social media platforms, TikTok also has algorithms that can affect the type of information users see and how they interact with each other. This research was conducted to find out how much influence the TikTok algorithm has on the possibility of polarization and disinformation among the public. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method. Data collection techniques in this study used the library review method. Data analysis techniques in this study use narrative analysis methods.
